Clarity backed by facts -- this has been Anna Mitchell's working philosophy as a journalist, researcher and business communicator for more than 15 years. To that end, this site is dedicated to a guided discussion of topics close to her heart: German-American relations, international business and news, corporate responsibility and public relations.
Anna spent 14 years writing and editing at newspapers in the Upstate region of South Carolina before moving to Germany in early 2013. Before her newspaper work she studied at the University of North Carolina, where she worked with Dr. Konrad Jarausch to obtain a bachelor's degree with honors in modern German history. She also attended the universities of Texas and Missouri, where she held teaching assistant posts and undertook graduate studies in journalism. Anna has recently completed an MBA in Germany, where she currently lives with her daughter, Laura. Anna has developed an expertise at writing and teaching the English language over the years; more recently, she has revived earlier attempts from her school days to learn German. Living in Germany, making friends there and reading the newspaper every day have made all the difference.
Anna teaches English in Schweinfurt, Germany, and she continues to write daily on current events. You can see some of her thoughts in the blog on this site. You can also check out her academic research on the subject of social media in public relations here. In her spare time, Anna plays the bassoon with her buddies in Schweinfurt and beyond.
